Lumia 525 is the successor of Nokia’s most successful Windows Phone , that is, The Nokia Lumia 520. Nokia has launched the Lumia 525 with 1 GB of Ram, which makes it a complete package. It is yet another fabulous Windows smartphone by Nokia that goes perfectly with the trend of glossy and flashy phones. With the Nokia Lumia 525 , Nokia has tried to take the Lumia series to new heights by giving it a premium look and style, also the changeable back covers give an edge to this Windows Phone. The back covers come in four colors, that is- dazzling orange, radiant yellow ,  luminous white and black. 1 GB RAM in the Lumia 525 provides an amazing gaming experience along with the amazing graphics of Lumia series. 7 GB of free storage is provided on Microsoft SkyDrive , which comes real handy while saving documents on the go. Built in applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint gives this phone the feel of a business phone. The 5 MP camera of Lumia 525 is quiet elegant, with an auto-focus  but no flash and front camera are provided.

A phone with elegant design, flashy colors, good looks, amazing gaming experience and quiet nice camera- you surely would not want to miss this one. Now let us go on with a more detailed review on The Nokia Lumia 525.

Lumia 525 was released in November 2013 and was an instant hit after it’s predecessor, the Lumia 520. It is a touchscreen phone with dimensions(mm) 119.90 x 64.00 x 9.90 and weight(g) 124.00. The smartphone has a removable, 1430 mAh battery which gives this phone  a stand by time of up to 336 h (2G) / Up to 336 h (3G), talk-time up to 17 h (2G) / Up to 10 h 40 min (3G) and Up to 48 h music playback.  CAMERA Nokia-Lumia-525-4

Nokia has provided a decent 5 MP camera, 2592 x 1936 pixels, with an auto-focus and geo tagging which I think is quiet elegant and captures good pictures even in low light conditions. The camera also has a 4X zoom. 1/4″ sensors give quiet a stable image. The main drawback of the Lumia 525 is that no front camera or flash are provided in this phone, which I think could be a major problem for camera phone lovers. Apart from this,  you can have quiet a good experience editing the photographs with great photo editing tools such as Glam Me, Creative Studio and Cinemagraph which come in-built in the Lumia 525.

Videos can be recorded in 720p @ 30fps with the primary camera.

The chipset in Nokia Lumia 525 is quiet good. Nokia has provided this phone with the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, dual-core Krait at 1GHz, Adreno 305 GPU and 1GB RAM. For some of you this under-the-hood specifications might be greek, but in english, your phone will be as smooth as butter, you will be able to play any HD game of your choice and you wont have to worry about freezing of your phone while multitasking. Keeping in mind the price tag of this phone, this phone is quiet amazing if you leave out the camera. Gamers- just go for it if you want an entry level gaming windows phone.

Lumia 525 operates on Windows 8 platform GDR3 with Nokia Black. General Distribution Release 3 (GDR3), is the final update for Windows 8 before windows 8.1. Lumia 525 has the latest update of windows 8. Nokia black is the firmware update by Nokia for all Lumia devices. For those of you who dont know what a firmware update is, there are two types of update, being- operating system update and firmware update. OS update is the update provided by the OS company ( Microsoft in this case). Meanwhile firmware update is provided by the handset company (Nokia in this case).

The display of Nokia Lumia is fabulous. It has aIPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors, which is amazing for such a low budget Windows Phone. This 4.0 inches (~233 ppi pixel density) phone has 480 x 800 pixels and also supports multitouch. Nokia has provided the Lumia 525 with the protection of Scratch-resistant glass.

Inside the box, you’ll find a Nokia Lumia 525 handset, a highly efficient charger AC-20 along with a Nokia BL-5J battery, a Nokia charging and data cable CA-189CD and a Nokia stereo headset WH-108.

The Nokia Lumia 525 is a great in budget Windows Phone with a very good gaming experience and user interface. The only con i find in this phone is with the camera. A front camera and a flash would have given this smartphone an edge with cameraphone lovers. In all a great phone. For more reviews on Nokia Lumia phones, stay tuned 🙂
